Austrian director Philipp M. Krenn began his artistic training as a soloist with the Vienna Boys’ Choir. His first graduate studies took him in a completely different direction – undertaking a degree in process engineering at the Vienna Technical University. Shortly before completing this degree, Krenn decided to return to the theatre – obtaining an acting degree at the Vienna Conservatorium. He then worked as an actor and learnt the director’s craft as assistant to world renowned directors. Krenn has directed works for companies including the Opera Graz, the State Theatre in Meiningen, Wiesbaden, and Braunschweig, the Vienna Volksoper, Theater an der Wien, Neue Oper Wien and the Styrian Autumn Festival in Graz.
