Armi Ratia has been building our identity and has given a strong voice to Finnish design. Marimekko, the textile company she founded together with her husband, has continued its world conquest from the time of reconstruction in the 50s until today.

Ilmajoki's opera arena along Kyrönjoki is the perfect backdrop for the story of Armi, the child of nature. The father of the original idea for the opera is the late composer Jaakko Kuusisto, who saw that Armi's story and the landscape of the vastness fit together perfectly.

Armi Ratia on ollut rakentamassa identiteettiämme ja antanut vahvan äänen suomalaiselle muotoilulle. Hänen yhdessä miehensä kanssa perustama tekstiiliyritys Marimekko on jatkanut maailmanvalloitustaan 50-luvun jälleenrakentamisen ajoista tähän päivään.

Ilmajoen ooppera-areena Kyrönjoen varrella on täydellinen tausta luonnonlapsi Armin tarinan kehykseksi. Oopperan lähtöidean isä on edesmennyt säveltäjä Jaakko Kuusisto, joka näki Armin tarinan ja lakeuden ​maiseman sointuvan täydellisesti yhteen.
