When Julia Hagen is asked how her connection to the cello began, she is happy to say that her father's cello case was the perfect hiding place for her to play as a child. What sounds like a nice childhood anecdote may have been an intense, childlike empathy with the nature of the instrument that would soon become Hagen's close companion. As the daughter of two musicians, the likeable, unpretentious artist grew up in a world of music - and has been in the fast lane in this for some time: After studying in Vienna and Berlin with well-known teachers such as Heinrich Schiff, she is currently a scholarship holder at the renowned Kronberg Academy and Already in international demand as a soloist.

Whether in the concert halls of Berlin and Vienna, in the Suntory Hall in Tokyo or at the Salzburg Festival - she certainly benefits from a quality that the pianist Igor Levit once attributed to her after a concert together: she is absolutely "fearless". Not the least important quality of a young musician who is artistically such a promise as the 26-year-old from Salzburg. Accompanied by the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, she will perform one of the most important works in the cello repertoire, Antonín Dvořák's solo concerto.
