DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE - Stadttheater Klagenfurt - Bericht KT 1

Mozart's last opera is one of the most famous and most frequently performed works in operatic literature. Hardly anyone who does not know Papageno's tune "I'm a bird catcher, yes", the aria of the Queen of the Night or the love story of Tamino and Pamina. The Magic Flute is not only a fairy tale, it is also a comedy, a morality, an allegory, full of Masonic symbolism and deeply imbued with Enlightenment ideas.
With Thomas Rösner, one can look forward to an Austrian Mozart specialist at the conductor's podium. Miron Schmückle created a wonderfully ornamental backdrop, based on 19th-century stage painting - a magnificent production that will amaze young and old alike!
