Don Giovanni is not just a story about a punished sinner, nor is he a simple musical comedy. It is a unique dramatic work in which even seemingly typical comedic situations, which in other operas sound easy and non-binding, seem harsh and increase the overall tension. Giovanni is finally punished, although in the end the question remains, who actually convicted and punished him: God, people, or, as Jozef Bednárik, the director of the title, suggests - his own parched interior? Although Mozart does not deviate in any way from the classicist compositional style, he does not in any way disrupt the strict stylistic "rule", nevertheless he gives the work a clear stamp of originality, which is not repeated in opera literature.
