Spektakularna ostra artykulacji, szalone tempa, skrajna dynamika. B’Rock to artyści wychowani na rockowych kapelach, zafascynowani muzyką baroku. Dzięki takim orkiestrom – tzw. trzeciej fali wykonawstwa historycznego – muzyka dawna staje się muzyką naszych czasów. Jak grać dzieła sprzed wieków, aby wzbudzały emocje w nas, ludziach żyjących w nieustannym hałasie, „pod ostrzałem” wszelkich bodźców? Z pasją i siłą! – odpowiadają członkowie B’Rock. To efekciarstwo? Nie, bo osobistą ekspresję łączą z rzetelną wiedzą.
Młodzi-gniewni z Gandawy nie poprzestają na skrajnościach w zakresie interpretowania muzyki. Orkiestra nie ma dyrektora artystycznego, lecz rządzi się według zasad demokracji. Belgijscy muzycy zamawiają u współczesnych kompozytorów utwory pisane na historyczne instrumentarium. Chętnie współpracują z tancerzami i światem teatru. Na Wratislavii niepokornych poprowadzi Christopher Bucknall, dyrygent i klawesynista. Zaśpiewają Lenneke Ruiten – która na słynnym Konkursie Wokalnym w ’s-Hertogenbosch zgarnęła aż pięć nagród, w tym główną, publiczności i dziennikarzy – oraz Wiebke Lehmkuhl, wybrana w 2011 roku „Młodą Śpiewaczką Roku”.
Dziełom, które wykonają, przyświecała jedna idea: Jauchzet Gott! (Chwalcie Boga!). Antyfona Salve, Regina (Witaj, Królowo) w opracowaniu Pergolesiego ukazuje emocjonalny wymiar niełatwego macierzyństwa Marii Panny. Wyłapiemy charakterystyczne dla Giovanniego Battisty opóźnione rozwiązania akordów  przeczuwamy, jakie dźwięki usłyszmy za chwilę, ale musimy na nie poczekać, przez co wzrasta napięcie. Pergolesi powróci pod koniec koncertu w utworze Tilge, Höchster, meine Sünden ta kompozycja Bacha to aranżacja Stabat Mater Włocha. Johann Sebastian rozbudował warstwę muzyczną, a poświęcony Marii tekst, niezbyt przydatny w kościele luterańskim, zastąpił słowami Psalmu 51 – w którym znajdziemy prośby o oczyszczenie z grzechów. Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen to jedna z najpopularniejszych, ale i najtrudniejszych Bachowskich arii – wymaga perfekcyjnej obsady w sopranie, a także w partii trąbki. Nie jest pewne, czy Bach skomponował ten utwór dla głosu chłopięcego, czy dla dorosłej kobiety – być może myślał o swojej żonie, śpiewaczce Annie Magdalenie.
Gdy B’Rock po raz pierwszy wystąpił na Wratisalvii przed dwoma laty, na ich koncert zabrakło biletów. W tym roku Belgian Baroque Orchestra Ghent świętuje dziesiątą rocznicę powstania – muzyczny kolektyw zawiązany przez buńczuczną młodzież okazał się eksperymentem ze wszech miar udanym. Krótka, a pełna sukcesów historia B’Rock pokazuje, że każde pokolenia chce zaznaczyć w świecie muzycznym swoją obecność. Dzięki takim młodym ludziom Wratislavia Cantans to po pół wieku wciąż festiwal żywy, (mile) zaskakujący nawet najwytrawniejszych melomanów.

Spectacular sharp articulation, crazy tempos, extreme dynamics. B'Rock are artists raised on rock bands, fascinated by baroque music. Thanks to such orchestras - the so-called. the third wave of historical performance – early music becomes the music of our times. How to play works from centuries ago so that they arouse emotions in us, people living in constant noise, "under fire" of all stimuli? With passion and strength! – answer the members of B'Rock. Is it flashy? No, because they combine personal expression with reliable knowledge.
Young-angry from Ghent do not stop at extremes in terms of interpreting music. The orchestra does not have an artistic director, but is governed by democratic principles. Belgian musicians commission works written for historical instruments from contemporary composers. They willingly cooperate with dancers and the theater world. At Wratislavia, the defiant will be led by Christopher Bucknall, conductor and harpsichordist. They will sing Lenneke Ruiten – who won five awards, including the main one, the audience and journalists – and Wiebke Lehmkuhl, chosen in 2011 "Young Singer of the Year".
The works they will perform were guided by one idea: Jauchzet Gott! (Praise God!). The antiphon Salve, Regina (Hail, Queen) arranged by Pergolesi shows the emotional dimension of the difficult motherhood of the Virgin Mary. We catch the delayed solutions of chords characteristic of Giovanni Battista, we sense what sounds we will hear in a moment, but we have to wait for them, which increases the tension. Pergolesi will return at the end of the concert in the piece Tilge, Höchster, meine Sünden - this Bach composition is an arrangement of the Italian Stabat Mater. Johann Sebastian expanded the musical layer, and replaced the text dedicated to Mary, not very useful in the Lutheran church, with the words of Psalm 51 - in which we will find requests for purification from sins. Jauchzet Gott in Allen Landenis one of the most popular, but also the most difficult Bach arias – it requires a perfect cast in the soprano as well as in the trumpet part. It is uncertain whether Bach composed this piece for a boy's voice or for a grown woman's voice – perhaps he was thinking of his wife, the singer Anna Magdalena.
When B'Rock performed at Wratisalvia for the first time two years ago, there were no tickets for their concert. This year, the Belgian Baroque Orchestra Ghent celebrates its tenth anniversary - the musical collective founded by defiant youth turned out to be a successful experiment by all means. The short but successful history of B'Rock shows that every generation wants to mark its presence in the music world. Thanks to such young people, Wratislavia Cantans is still a lively festival after half a century, pleasantly surprising even the most seasoned music lovers.
