Diesmal aber stehen weniger illustre Kompositionen auf dem Programm der NDR Radiophilharmonie: Musik experimentellen Charakters, die viel über ihre Schöpfer verrät. Dem "gregorianischen" Konzert Respighis widmet sich Ausnahmegeiger Frank Peter Zimmermann, Stanislav Kochanowsky präsentiert die Sinfonischen Tänze seines Landsmanns Rachmaninow.

Explorers, watch out! When we hear the names Ottorino Respighi and Sergei Rachmaninoff, some of us will probably think of works like the "Rome" trilogy and Rachmaninoff's second piano concerto. This time, however, there are fewer illustrious compositions on the NDR Radiophilharmonie's program: music of an experimental character that reveals a lot about its creators. The exceptional violinist Frank Peter Zimmermann is dedicated to Respighi's "Gregorian" concerto, while Stanislav Kochanowsky presents the symphonic dances of his compatriot Rachmaninoff.
