England, in the year of the Lord 932. Anglo-Saxons, French, Celts, plague, cholera and bad weather conditions rule the country, in short: the conditions are catastrophic. This calls for a hero! Enter: King Arthur, chosen by the sword Excalibur and the Fairy from the Lake, accompanied by the Knights of the Round Table and his squire Patsy, who has the weighty task of banging coconut halves together to simulate a horse. Together they set off to find the Holy Grail, while fights, cows and killer rabbits lurk around every corner. SPAMALOT - based on Monty Python's "The Knights of the Coconut" - not only pokes fun at the Arthurian legend, but also at the musical genre.
