King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table have an important mission to fulfil: in search of the Holy Grail, their journey takes them through medieval Britain and there are countless crazy adventures to be endured. In battle, the knights have to prove themselves against the killer rabbit or the French scoffers who throw cows. But at the end of the arduous quest for the Grail, everyone in King Arthur's entourage finds their destiny - be it in show business or in love.

The English comedy group Monty Python achieved a terrific hit with the public with their musical Spamalot , which premiered on Broadway in 2005. It is based on the cult film The Knights of the Coconut and is - just like Monty Python - weird, whimsical and absurd. Spamalot is notable for its cheeky ambiguity, as the play repeatedly pokes fun at itself and the musical genre in general. After all, the motto of this show for all Monty Python fans and those who want to become one is: "Always look on the bright side of life!".

König Artus und seine Ritter der Tafelrunde haben eine wichtige Mission zu erfüllen: Auf der Suche nach dem heiligen Gral führt sie ihre Reise durch das mittelalterliche Britannien und es gilt, unzählige aberwitzige Abenteuer zu bestehen. Im Kampf müssen sich die Ritter etwa gegen das Killerkaninchen oder die französischen Spötter, die mit Kühen werfen, beweisen. Doch am Ende der beschwerlichen Gralssuche findet jeder in König Artus’ Gefolge seine Bestimmung – sei es im Showbusiness oder in der Liebe.

Der englischen Komikergruppe Monty Python ist mit ihrem Musical Spamalot, das 2005 am Broadway uraufgeführt wurde, ein grandioser Publikumserfolg gelungen. Es beruht auf dem Kult-Film Die Ritter der Kokosnuss und ist – ganz à la Monty Python – schräg, skurril und absurd. Spamalot zeichnet sich durch seine freche Doppelbödigkeit aus, da sich das Stück immer wieder über sich selbst und das Genre Musical im Allgemeinen lustig macht. Schließlich lautet das Motto dieser Show für alle Monty Python-Fans und die, die es werden wollen: „Always look on the bright side of life!“.
