Appreciated for his "captivating vocal color and swaggering high notes" and "great intensity and tangible emotion" (OperaClick), Vincenzo Costanzo is one of the most promising and highly regarded young tenors on the world opera scene.
Born in 1991, he joined the children's voice choir of the San Carlo Theater in Naples at the age of six, where he made his debut as a soloist at only 11 in a contemporary opera.
He studied piano and solfeggio privately and then graduated from the conservatory, continuing the study of singing with Marcello Ferraresi and then perfecting himself with Piero Giuliacci. At the same time he graduated in computer engineering.
Winner of the Oscar Della Lirica (Tenor New Generation award) in Doha in 2014, despite his young age Vincenzo Costanzo has already had the opportunity to collaborate with internationally renowned directors and conductors such as Myung-whun Chung at Teatro La Fenice in Venice and in Tokyo, James Conlon at Teatro Real in Madrid, Emma Dante at Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Daniel Oren and Franco Zeffirelli at Arena di Verona, and Liliana Cavani at Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona.
In December 2012 he made his debut in Giuseppe Verdi's "Macbeth" at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa under the baton of Andrea Battistoni, and in the following years he expanded his Verdi repertoire. In 2013, on the occasion of the bicentenary of Verdi's birth, he is Rodolfo in "Luisa Miller" in Busseto under the baton of Donato Renzetti and directed by Leo Nucci, a role in which he also tried his hand at the Teatro Comunale di Piacenza, Teatro Comunale di Ferrara and Teatro Dante Alighieri in Ravenna, eliciting public and critical acclaim. In September, he sings Alfredo Germont in "La traviata" conducted by Daniel Oren at the Guangzhou Opera House. After the experience in China, he took part in the staging of "La traviata" at Teatro alla Scala in Milan for the opening of the 2013/2014 Season and garnered new acclaim in the role of Alfredo in Novara, conducted by Andrea Battistoni, and in Astana, conducted by Francesco Ivan Ciampa.
In February 2014, he made his debut in "Madama Butterfly" at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, conducted by Juraj Valcuha, and later returned to perform the role of Pinkerton in other prestigious theaters including Teatro la Fenice in Venice, Teatro San Carlo in Naples and Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
He sang in "Macbeth" at the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, in "La bohème" in Palermo, "Luisa Miller" at the Teatro Real in Madrid and in "Nabucco" at the Reggia di Caserta. In October 2016 he also debuted in the role of Riccardo in "Un ballo in maschera."
He was a guest at the AIDS Gala held at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, where he also played Alfredo in "La traviata": in the same theater he debuted "La Rondine" directed by Rolando Villazón. He later returned to perform "Madama Butterfly" at the Teatro Real in Madrid and at the San Francisco Opera House, thus making his U.S. debut.
Her most recent engagements include "Un Ballo in Maschera" in London under the baton of Gianluca Marcianò, "Simon Boccanegra" at the Opéra national de Montpellier under the

 baton of Michael Schønwandt, "Tosca" at the National Opera Minsk, and "Adriana Lecouvreur" at the Staatstheaters Mainz under the baton of Daniel Montanè and directed by Gianluca Falaschi.
In 2021, he participates in two very special productions: he takes on the role of Rinuccio in the televised "Gianni Schicchi" under the direction of Damiano Michieletto and that of Alfredo in "La traviata" in Virtual Reality, the first opera in the metaverse curated by Luca Micheletti.
The 2023 Season features major debuts, including Roberto in "Le Villi" at Staatstheater Mainz, Mario Cavaradossi in "Tosca" at Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, Rodolfo in "La Bohème" at Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Pinkerton in "Madama Butterfly" in Ljubljana on tour with Teatro La Fenice in Venice, and again Pinkerton in "Madama Butterfly" at Teatro San Carlo in Naples.
