Barcelona, SpainAmerican lighting designer Adam Silverman made his Royal Opera debut in 2010 on Adriana Lecouvreur, directed by David McVicar, and his Royal Ballet debut in 2013 on Christopher Wheeldon’s Aeternum. He has since returned to create the lighting design for Andrea Chénier, directed by McVicar for The Royal Opera, for The Last Hotel, a co-commission and co-production between Landmark Productions and Wide Open Opera, for Arthur Pita’s The Wind for The Royal Ballet and for Lohengrin, directed by David Alden, for The Royal Opera. He returns in the 2018/19 Season as lighting designer for Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui's Medusa. Silverman trained at the North Carolina School of the Arts and now works extensively in opera, theatre and dance. Opera credits include Un ballo in maschera for the Metropolitan Opera
