Annie Chester, mezzo soprano has been praised for her strong dramatic presence on the operatic stage and for her “warm, rich, chocolatey voice”. Most recently, Ms. Chester was named a winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions for the Idaho/Montana & North Dakota/Manitoba District and will go on to compete at the regional level in spring 2021. Ms. Chester gained much attention performing Maddalena in Sarasota Opera’s 2019 fall production of Rigoletto. Of her opening night performance, The Herald Tribune stated that “Annie Chester’s Maddelena is brash and loose with a honeyed deep mezzo-soprano voice.
