After graduating the Saint-Petersburg State Conservatory, Ivan Sapunov joined the Rostov State Musical Theatre as a principal artist, where his many appearances include the title role in Eugene Onegin, Prince Yeletsky in The Queen of Spades, Valentin in Faust, Apollo in Taneev’s Oresteia and Robert Iolanta. After three years in Rostov-on-Don, he became a soloist with the Saint Petersburg Chamber Opera, where his roles have included Figaro in Il barbiere do Siviglia, Marcello in La bohème, Silvio in Pagliacci, Junius in The Rape of Lucretia and. Baron Douphol in La traviata. A participant of Operalia 18-24 October 2021 in Moscow at the Bolshoi Theatre.
