Born in Hamburg, soprano Bettina Jensen received her musical education from Norma Sharp at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler in Berlin. She won several vocal competitions and was awarded numerous scholarships, the Hanns-Eisler-Prize, among others. While studying, she gained first stage experience being engaged by various opera houses, such as the Berlin State Opera Unter den Linden, where she appeared as Gorgo in Richard Strauss´ musical comedy “Des Esels Schatten”, in Klagenfurt (Austria), where she convinced as Servilia in Mozart´s “La Clemenza di Tito”, and at the Komische Oper Berlin, where she successfully sang the First Lady in Mozart´s “The Magic Flute” as well as the role of Agathe in von Weber´s “Der Freischütz”.
