Chisom Awachie

Chisom Awachie (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist currently based in New York. She is an actor, deviser, screenwriter, and filmmaker who, inspired by the concept of staging futures, strives to create soft places to land for members of the African diaspora. As a first-generation Nigerian-American, Chisom explores identity, authenticity, and body in an effort to create safe versions of home. Chisom is a former Acting Apprentice of the Horizon Theatre Company in Atlanta, GA. She holds a B.A. in Performing and Media Arts from Cornell University and an MFA in Theatre from Sarah Lawrence College.
