David quickly developing a keen interest in music and began singing in choir and playing piano. By 2007 he had gained entrance into the Junior Academy programme of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (Now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland). He began taking part in the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland as a tuba player, and took part in training programmes with the National Youth Choir of Scotland and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra’s Changing Voices choir. Quickly developing a flair for working with community choirs, David had already conducted choir rehearsals by the time he was eighteen. Just five years after be
