Director Kristiina Helin studied acting at East15 Acting School in England during 1989-1991. She took further acting classes in Wales with Odin Teatret, found by the legendary theatre director Jerzy Grotowski. Frustrated and unsatisfied with the thrid year teaching at the school, and engouraged by the Odin group, she sought to study dance and choreography with a Japanese butoh dancer Min Tanaka. The work and the study at the “Body Weather” farm in Japan, turned out to be one of the main turning points in her life. At the farm she also developped a deep relationship with Lemi Ponifasio, a choreographer and influencer of our time. Returning to Finland in 1994, to the middle of regression and unemploiment she was drawn back to her passion; classical music and singing. Helin trained as ope
