1Equally exciting dramatically and vocally was Maritina Tampakopoulos as Donna Elvira. One of the funniest scenes of the production was watching her tear the pages out of Leporello’s little book in which he kept track of his master’s conquests. She sailed through both of her big arias with accuracy, fire and fury. Tampakopoulo’s take on this forlorn woman was a tad arch, which only made it all the more pitiful to watch her come to grips with Don Giovanni’s duplicity and lasciviousness; she had indeed loved him, a point often lost amid the histrionics.

7"Tampakopoulos also caused great emotion when she sang the famous aria "Casta Diva" from Vinzenzo Bellini's opera "Norma" during the Krakow gala. It's hard to believe that this aria was reworked eight times by the composer, even on the day of its premiere, when the role of Norma was sung by the famous Giuditta Pasta, called a great tragic woman. Norma, accompanied by priests and the moonlight, has a prophetic vision and announces the fall of Rome. Maritina's voice harmonized wonderfully with the orchestra and choir, it was crystal clear, with beautiful timbre and appropriate strength" Maritina Tampakopoulos once again caused a stir in the audience. In Act II of Puccini's opera, the titular Tosca does what she can to free Cavaradossi. The head of the secret Roman police, the heartless Scarpia, saw her as a victim of his own lust. A humiliated woman at the end of her strength tries to pray and sings "Vissi d'arte". Tampakopoulos performed this aria with the strong emotions necessary at this moment, and at the same time with extraordinary precision.
..δύσκολα μπορεί κανείς να αρνηθεί την εκφραστική γενναιοδωρία και την προσεγμένη εκφορά λόγου της καλλιτέχνιδας, κυρίως όμως την ποιότητα και τον αντίκτυπο μιας τέτοιας λυρικοδραματικής φωνής, που όμοιά της δεν διαθέτει αυτή τη στιγμή η Ελλάδα! Καθώς η Ταμπακοπούλου βρίσκεται στο ξεκίνημα μιας υποσχόμενης σταδιοδρομίας σε λυρικά θέατρα του εξωτερικού, θα ήταν κρίμα να μην την αξιοποιήσει η Εθνική Λυρική Σκηνή…
Ακόμη ισχυρότερες εντυπώσεις άφησε η αμιγώς ελληνική διανομή ακμαίων μονωδών, την οποία, ειλικρινά, ελάχιστοι θεωρούσαν ότι είναι δυνατό να …βρεθεί! Η ανάθεση στον τενόρο Κωνσταντίνο Κληρονόμο και την υψίφωνο Μαριτίνα Ταμπακοπούλου των εξαιρετικά απαιτητικών πρωταγωνιστικών ρόλων ήταν ευτυχής: αμφότεροι εντυπωσίασαν με τις υγιείς λυρικοδραματικές φωνές, την ανεπίληπτη εκφορά του αδόμενου λόγου και τις αντοχές τους!
. Αντίστοιχα, με τη μεστή και τεράστια, εύηχη και λαμπερή, υγιή φωνή της η ακμαία Ελληνίδα υψίφωνος Μαριτίνα Ταμπακοπούλου υπηρέτησε δίχως εκπτώσεις, με ακρίβεια, καλαίσθητα και με ταιριαστά φλογερό πάθος, τον εξοντωτικό ρόλο της Σμαράγδας˙
An der Seite des Russen verkörperte die Griechin Maritina Tampakopoulos die schwierige Rolle der Aleksej nicht liebenden und unter starken Stimmungsschwankungen leidenden Polina. Ihr dramatisches Sopranmaterial eignete sich gut für die ihren hysterischen Charakter zeichnende Musik
