She made her San Francisco Opera debut as the Mother in Hansel and Gretel, which she was praised for "...[showing] confidence and vocal security in her unexpected San Francisco Opera debut, which proceeded flawlessly.” In 2023, Mary Evelyn saw a triumphant debut as A Woman in Schoenberg’s masterpiece Erwartung with West Edge Opera, for which The San Francisco Chronicle praised her “incendiary brilliance” and “[her] singing, moreover — bright, luxuriant and fearlessly on point — was a marvel.” Ca
