We are thrilled to share with you our newest video (collection of four), featuring world-renowned soprano & Opera in the Park soloist Angela Meade.

Pacific Northwest-born soprano Angela Meade has captivated audiences the world over — from the Metropolitan Opera (New York, NY) to Wexford Festival (Ireland) to BBC Prom (London, England) to Théâtre des Champs-Elysées (Paris, France) to Gran Teatre del Liceu (Barcelona, Spain) to Teatro di San Carlo (Naples, Italy) to Deutsche Opera Berlin (Germany) to Vienna State Opera (Austria) to NHK Hall (Tokyo, Japan) to Tanglewood (Lenox, MA). The awe-inspiring list goes on and on, including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. 

Angela Meade’s frequent appearance at Opera in the Park PDX deeply honors our mission to make “world-class” opera accessible to everyone.

While Angela Meade was not able to be with us this summer, because of the cancelation of our free outdoor concert due to COVID-19, she shares what singing for Portland SummerFest in the amphitheater at Washington Park means to her and why amidst all the beautiful opera houses and concert halls in the world she has experienced it holds a special place in her heart.
