The Early Music Organization is developing two major activities: the Utrecht Early Music Festival and the Early Music Season.

The Utrecht Early Music Festival is the largest festival of its kind in the world. At the end of August, Utrecht's city center will be the center of the international early music sector for ten days. Since its first edition in 1982, the Utrecht Early Music Festival has been presenting repertoire from the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Baroque in more than 250 concerts and events to a spectacularly growing audience of more than 70,000 visitors. During the Utrecht Early Music Festival, the international top will stand side by side with young talent, who will be featured and accompanied during a series of 70 fringe concerts. The International Van Wassenaer Competition has been part of the Utrecht Early Music Festival since 2014.

The Early Music Season offers the same combination of established careers and young professionals, only the formula is radically different. Where the festival stands for concentration through the unity of place and time, the season describes exactly the opposite movement: during the Early Music Season we travel the country, all around the concert season. Since 1986 we have been serving a large audience of early music lovers.

Finally, the Tijdschrift Oude Muziek (TOM) is the only specialized publication in the Netherlands in the field of early music. Our Friends receive TOM four times a year.
