Adam Václav Michna Z Otradovic Loutna Česká
Oratorio / OrchestralConcert
Adam Václav Michna (1600–1676): Czech lute on holidays, on Fridays, in church, at the table as you like at any moment, joyfully, mournfully, savingly sounding, composed and published by Adam Michna from Otradovice Jindřicho-Hradecký LP 1653. (reconstruction of Adam Viktor's second violin part) Unlike Czech Marian music and Christmas music , which can be described as hymnals, or chants, although not in the usual sense of the word, Lutna česká is an ensemble of a different kind. Lutna česká is a cycle of thirteen songs centered around one thematic focal point – the mystical marriage of the divine Bridegroom (Christ or God the Father) with the virgin Bride – the Virgin Mary, who, however, also represents the Christian human soul on a somewhat different level. The designation of Jesus as Bride or Bridegroom corresponds with biblical parablesabout the ten bridesmaids and the guests at the wedding. In the Christian tradition, the allegory of the Church as the bride of Christ is based on this metaphorical image of Christ as the heavenly Bridegroom, who lovingly seeks his Bride and enters into a marriage union with her; even this allegorical interpretation cannot be excluded from Michna's texts. However, the usual starting point of Christian mystical erotica – the Song of Songs – has its share in them only to a very small extent. Although Michnova's Czech Lute was not completely preserved, it became one of the most famous Czech Baroque compositions. Thanks to the unique finding of a period print of a set of first violins by musicologist Petr Daňek in 2014, it was possible to reconstruct the voice of the second violin and present Michna's work in its original form to the audience. It was the first timeThe Czech lute in a reconstructed form was performed on December 23, 2014 by Ensemble Inégal under the direction of Adam Viktory, as part of the concert cycle Czech musical baroque – discoveries and surprises . The concert took place in the Knight's Hall of the Grand Duke's Palace in Prague. The world premiere of the CD recording was realized by Ensemble Inégal in March 2015 for the NIBIRU publishing house in the chapel of the Piaristic Monastery in Slané, i.e. in the building where a valuable set of first violins was found.
