On the opening day of the festival, listeners will have a great opportunity to hear the music of Stravinsky's neoclassical ballets Apollo Musagete and Pulcinella performed by the Stradivari Ensemble of the Mariinsky Theater with soloist and conductor Lorenz Nasturika-Gershovichi, as well as the Concerto for String Orchestra performed by baroque strings created by Italian masters during the lifetime of Antonio Stradivari.

The Stradivari Ensemble of the Mariinsky Theater is a group of musicians playing string instruments created by the great Italian masters of the 17th-18th centuries: Nicolo Amati, Antonio Stradivari, Giuseppe Guarneri, Giovanni Battista Guadanini and Mateo Goffriller. Each of the instruments played by the musicians of the ensemble has its own history full of amazing events.
The ensemble was created in 2009 on the initiative of the artistic director - director of the Mariinsky Theater Valery Gergiev. Currently, the ensemble consists of more than 20 people - the leading soloists of the Symphony Orchestra of the theater. Since 2013, the violinist Lorenz Nasturika-Gershovichi has led the ensemble.
The extensive repertoire of the Stradivari Ensemble includes both classical compositions for string orchestra (from Vivaldi to Stravinsky) and the best examples of "light music" (fragments of Viennese operettas, Argentinean tangos...), which, thanks to the timbres of unique instruments, acquire a special sound. The Ensemble performs with unfailing success at the Mariinsky Concert Hall as an independent group, collaborates with opera soloists and instrumentalists, and tours in Russia and abroad.

В день открытия фестиваля слушателей ждет прекрасная возможность услышать в исполнении Страдивари-ансамбля Мариинского театра с солистом и дирижером Лоренцем Настурикой-Гершовичи музыку неоклассических балетов Стравинского «Аполлон Мусагет», «Пульчинелла», а также Концерт для струнного оркестра в исполнении барочных струнных, созданных итальянскими мастерами еще при жизни Антонио Страдивари.

Страдивари-ансамбль Мариинского театра – коллектив музыкантов, играющих на струнных инструментах, созданных великими итальянскими мастерами XVII–XVIII веков: Николо Амати, Антонио Страдивари, Джузеппе Гварнери, Джованни Баттиста Гваданини и Матео Гоффриллером. Каждый из инструментов, на которых играют музыканты ансамбля, обладает собственной историей, полной удивительных событий.
Ансамбль был создан в 2009 году по инициативе художественного руководителя – директора Мариинского театра Валерия Гергиева. В настоящее время в составе ансамбля более 20 человек – ведущие солисты Симфонического оркестра театра. С 2013 года коллективом руководит скрипач Лоренц Настурика-Гершовичи.
Обширный репертуар Страдивари-ансамбля включает как классические сочинения для струнного оркестра (от Вивальди до Стравинского), так и лучшие образцы «легкой музыки» (фрагменты венских оперетт, аргентинские танго...), которые благодаря тембрам уникальных инструментов приобретают особое звучание. Ансамбль с неизменным успехом выступает в Концертном зале Мариинского театра как самостоятельный коллектив, сотрудничает с солистами оперы и инструменталистами, гастролирует в России и за границей.
