In preparation for the Holy Week, the MPO presents Rossini’s Stabat Mater led by Alan Chircop. This sacred choral masterpiece evokes profound emotion through its rich melodies and poignant depiction of the Virgin Mary’s grief at the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

The New Choral Singers are joined by soloists soprano Andriana Yordanova, mezzo Mara Gaudenzi, tenor Alan Sciberras and bass Francesco Leone. Hailed for its dramatic intensity and powerful choral writing, this remains one of Rossini’s most acclaimed sacred works.
