Daniel Blanco Albert presents the operatic project of the Infinite Opera company, Besse. This pocket opera, with a libretto by the singer and science communicator Roxanne Korda, tells the story of a 14th-century brewer accused of witchcraft because of her knowledge, who has to fight for her freedom and claim her rights to the last consequences. The work presents as its main novelty the close collaboration in the creation and production of the work with the DigBrew Co. craft brewery in Birmingham, where it premiered in its factory in 2019, with the aim of creating new audiences outside the stages of traditional opera. With a refreshing, pungent humor and sometimes with a touch of fruity acid, and, with moments of bitter and honeyed drama, Besse can be considered – with pleasure – beer made into opera.
