OperaStaged
The most perfect opera by Georges Bizet returns in October to the stage of the Silesian Opera. During the Paris premiere, she was accepted with reserve, but shortly afterwards triumphed on the stage of the whole world. The show, directed by Wiesław Ochman, was produced in 2006 and has enjoyed unflagging popularity among music lovers ever since. One of the breakthroughs in the history of opera, uninterruptedly present in the repertoire of all opera theaters, the spectacular arias of the main characters Carmen and Don José, entered the canon of great performance achievements. It is one of the most popular and famous veristic operas. The dramatic love story of the Basque soldier Don José for a beautiful cigar factory worker. We perceive "Carmen" as a contemporary work that expresses the universal truths of life and destiny. Full of violent contrasts and scenes of exceptional power, the tragedy of love and jealousy is an absolutely perfect work. The title character is bursting with energy. She is a complex and colorful figure, hungry for life. Unpredictable and wild. Passionate and independent. That is why for over 130 years it has been constantly attracting, surprising and fascinating opera fans. The reopening of the show will also be a farewell to the staging that has been with us for 15 years. Music of extraordinary beauty, memorable melodies (the famous overture, Habanera , Torreadorra aria ...) and suggestive Spanish rhythms are a huge advantage of the performance. The musical direction of the re-launch of the French composer's opera was assumed by his compatriot Franck Chastrusse Colombier - the current musical director of the Silesian Opera.
