Carmina Burana is one of the most striking and symbolic scores of the past century. The source of inspiration for the composer Karl Orff was a poetic collection of the end of the 12th century, which reflected a variety of themes and images: reflections on morality are side by side with records of drinking songs, denunciation of human vices - with the finest love lyrics, philosophical reasoning - with satirical student poems. And merging together with the catchy, expressive music of the 20th century, these medieval texts sounded with a truly grandiose, universal scale.
