Inventor Caractacus Potts lives with his two children and his eccentric father. The children have fallen in love with an old racing car from the junkyard, so their father has no choice but to buy it and restore it. What's more, he turns it into a miracle car that can even swim and fly, and whose strange engine noises immediately earn it the name "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang." But the car's magical powers arouse the envy of Baron Bomburst of Vulgaria, who desperately wants it. When he fails, he has Caractacus's father kidnapped, believing him to be the inventor. Naturally, Caractacus and the children, along with Truly Scrumptious, the daughter of a wealthy candy manufacturer, immediately set off for Vulgaria to free their grandfather with Chitty's help!

Do you remember the delightful 1968 musical fantasy film based on the famous children's book by James Bond creator Ian Fleming? It was filmed at Neuschwanstein Castle, among other places, and the hit score by the Sherman brothers, who also scored Disney's "The Jungle Book" and "Mary Poppins," earned it an Oscar and two Golden Globe nominations. In 2002, the film was then adapted into a stage musical for London's West End, where it played to sold-out audiences for three and a half years before conquering New York's Broadway.
