Along with the recorder and viol, the harpsichord is one of the instruments that has been sidelined in the course of musical history. In the course of the ever-increasing demands in terms of sonority and color that were placed on the instruments, the chirping sound of this keyboard instrument, the touch of which can be varied only slightly, appeared rigid, outdated - and in the romantic orchestra too quiet. It was only in the 20th century, after the fin de siècle had exhausted the intoxication of emotion and sound, that interest returned to the intimate, “objective” sound of this baroque instrument. And with the modern sound technology, the volume argument is also off the table, rather the amplification opens up completely new musical possibilities.
