Friday 19 November 2021 at 12 at the Ridotto dei Palchi “A. Toscanini” of the Teatro alla Scala, as part of Bookcity 2021, the event will be held Tomorrow morning, great things will learn , during which the volume Vent'anni di Accademia will be presented. Two hundred of history , edited by Fabio Sartorelli, realized with the support of the Lombardy Region. The curator will be attended by the Superintendent of the Teatro alla Scala Dominique Meyer, the Councilor for Autonomy and Culture of the Lombardy Region Stefano Bruno Galli, the President of the Accademia Teatro alla Scala Giuseppe Vita, the President of AGIS Carlo Fontana and Luisa Vinci , Director General of the Academy. Furthermore, accompanied by Francesco Manessi, a student of the specialization course for collaborating masters , the baritone Paul Grant, soloist of the specialization academy for opera singers , will perform some arias from the great repertoire. The initiative, with free admission subject to availability of seats, will be broadcast in live streaming on the websites and social channels of the Teatro alla Scala, the Accademia Teatro alla Scala and on the Bookcity website. The live streaming is part of the 20×20 Academy project , created with the support of the Cariplo Foundation, which provides for the streaming transmission of twenty artistic events of the Verona Academy to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the institution as a Foundation. An anniversary is not just a date to mark on a calendar, but it is also an opportunity to discover what that anniversary evokes: the birth in 2001 of the Fondazione Accademia Teatro alla Scala, today recognized as one of the major educational institutions for live entertainment , marks a significant stage in a story that is actually far more distant in time. In fact, the first roots of the didactic vocation that the Teatro alla Scala has always shown towards the new generations with the precise intention of transmitting its precious heritage of knowledge, the result of the experience on stage and behind the scenes of artists and professionals of absolute value. And the Lombardy Region, Founding Member of the Academy, wanted to pay homage to this story by entrusting the story to Fabio Sartorelli, a musicologist of undisputed caliber, professor at the Milan Conservatory and one of the first teachers of the Academy. Fabio Sartorelli enthusiastically welcomed the possibility of retracing the events of the Scala School from the very beginning, because – as he himself recalls in the volume – “if we want to make those who do not yet know us understand who we are, we must also tell them where we come from”. The narration therefore highlights fixed points with dates, people, places, going to discover unpublished details, never told before. Starting from the years 1813-1946, with the glorious start of the Ballet School, then 1946-1953 with the establishment of the Singing School, The descriptive part is accompanied by interviews with some of the protagonists (Carlo Fontana, Angelo Sala), important testimonies of those who have contributed to the growth of this institution. In support, a rich iconographic apparatus drawn both from the photographic archive of the Teatro alla Scala and from that of the Academy itself. The volume has the objective not only to make an institution as prestigious as it is active on a national and international level such as the Accademia Teatro alla Scala known in more detail, but it was also created as a promotional tool for the territory, of which the institution itself is an expression . A real showpiece on the international scene and whose graduates are distinguished by their skills and competences. The names of artists such as Roberto Bolle, Massimo Murru, Marta Romagna, Nicoletta Manni, Virna Toppi, Martina Arduino, Angelo Greco, Jacopo Tissi, Fabio Capitanucci, Giuseppe Filianoti, Carmen Giannattasio, Anja Kampe, Nino Machaidze, Anita Rachvelishvili, Nino Surguladze are enough , Aya Wakizono, Pretty Yende, just to name a few. Not to mention all those who work behind the scenes of the most prestigious theaters in the world.
