After ten years, Teatro alla Scala presents a new production of the Ring des Nibelungen conducted by a Maestro of absolute reference in this repertoire, Christian Thielemann, who adds his name to those of great conductors such as Toscanini, De Sabata, Krauss, Furtwängler, Cluytens, Muti and Barenboim. The direction is by David McVicar, one of the most authoritative names on the international directorial scene, who has been applauded at La Scala in a vast repertoire, from Cavalli to Berlioz, Cilea and Verdi. The prestigious cast features the baritone Michael Volle, who will be Wotan in the entire cycle. The Tetralogy will be completed over the next seasons with Die Walküre and Siegfried in 2025 and with Götterdämmerung and two complete cycles in 2026.

An introductory conference on the opera will be held one hour before the start of each performance, at the Ridotto dei Palchi “A. Toscanini”, held by Elisabetta Fava
