the season, director Luk Perceval and exile author Asli Erdoğan give Mozart's popular Singspiel Die Entführung aus dem Seraglio a philosophical dimension beyond oriental clichés and without humorous scenes. They transfer the action into a fast-moving, globalized world in which the contrasts between Orient and Occident have long since dissolved and no one can find a way out of the "inner seraglio". This co-production with the Grand Théâtre de Genève and the Nationaltheater Mannheim sensitively, with enchantingly beautiful images, new dialogues and interludes, traces the contrast between stillness and activity in the brutal throng of the world. A real work of art inspired by Mozart's utopian music performed by the Orchester Philharmonique du Luxembourg conducted by Fabio Biondi.

Regisseur Luk Perceval und Exilautorin Asli Erdoğan verleihen zum Saisonauftakt Mozarts beliebtem Singspiel Die Entführung aus dem Serail eine philosophische Dimension jenseits von orientalischen Klischees und ohne humoristische Spielszenen. Sie überführen die Handlung in eine schnelllebige, globalisierte Welt, in der die Gegensätze von Orient und Okzident längst aufgelöst sind und keiner einen Weg aus dem „inneren Serail“ findet. Einfühlsam, mit berückend schönen Bildern, neuen Dialogen und Zwischentexten spürt diese Koproduktion mit dem Grand Théâtre de Genève und dem Nationaltheater Mannheim so dem Gegensatz von Stille und Betriebsamkeit im brutalen Weltgedränge nach. Ein echtes Kunstwerk inspiriert von Mozarts utopischer Musik, die vom Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg unter Leitung von Fabio Biondi gespielt wird.
