It's Fidel when Gabriel von Eisenstein - instead of going to prison - goes to a boozy soirée in Prince Orlofsky's house. But it is not only surprising that Eisenstein's maid Adele is there, who wants to lay the foundations for her stage career that very evening. To make matters worse, a mysterious countess steals his pocket watch! When the whole mess clears up the next morning, Eisenstein discovers that he has been a victim of the 'revenge of the bat'.

As the undisputed queen of the operetta, Die Fledermaus drivesher mischief now back on the stage of Konzert Theater Bern. Joke, charm, masquerades and champagne sweep the audience away with this masterpiece as well as the most beautiful melodies by the great Johann Strauss (1825–1899). Alexander Kreuselberg, who most recently staged Menotti's The Medium and Pergolesi's La serva padrona in Bern , relocates the plot to the beginning of the 20th century, when the decadent high society celebrates in the face of the impending catastrophe as if there were no more tomorrow.
