This year the Kleine Oper am See presented "The Merry Wives of Windsor" , a comic-fantastic opera in three acts by Otto Nicolai.

 

In 2014 Shakespeare celebrates his 450th birthday. The Little Opera commemorates the world-famous playwright with Otto Nicolai's operatic version of the comedy The Merry Wives of Windsor. The focus of the humorous story is the impoverished nobleman Falstaff, who courts the town's bourgeois women in order to get money. The question is whether women will let that happen to them!

The Merry Wives of Windsor is a play about morality, desire, infidelity and vanity that uses humor and cunning to illustrate why men are from Mars and women are from Venus.

Otto Nicolai's rousing music accompanies the whole thing with both beautiful romance and sparkling cheerfulness.

In diesem Jahr präsentierte die Kleine Oper am See "Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor", eine komisch-phantastische Oper in drei Akten von Otto Nicolai.

 

2014 feiert Shakespeare seinen 450. Geburtstag. Die Kleine Oper erinnert an den weltberühmten Dramatiker mit Otto Nicolai's Opernversion der Komödie "Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor". Im Mittelpunkt der humorvollen Erzählung steht der verarmte Adelige Falstaff, der die Bürgerfrauen der Stadt hofiert, um an Geld zu kommen. Die Frage ist, ob die Frauen das mit sich machen lassen!

Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor ist ein Bühnenstück über Moral, Begierde, Untreue und Eitelkeit, das mit Humor und List darstellt, wieso Männer vom Mars und Frauen von der Venus sind.

Otto Nicolai's mitreißende Musik begleitet das Ganze sowohl mit wunderschöner Romantik als auch mit spritziger Heiterkeit.
