The masked Don Giovanni sneaks into the room of the governor's daughter, Donna Anna, but the girl rejects the unknown. The governor also wakes up to the noise and calls for a duel. The knight stabs him and escapes. Anna and her fiancé swear revenge, as does Donna Elvira, who arrives in town and is seduced by the knight and then left at a wooden picture. Don Giovanni is just eyeing the pretty young bride, Zerlina, when Anna, Elvira and Ottavio show up. The knight unlocks the wheel and invites the statue on the governor's tomb to dinner in his arrogance…
