A show that rests in the search for the Spanish musical”. Under this premise, Francisco López, stage director, created his particular vision of the zarzuela “Doña Francisquita” in 2006, a production at the Jerez coliseum that has been seen, in addition to the Teatro Villamarta, on stages in Córdoba, Bilbao and Oviedo. And it is that López starts from the need to revitalize the Spanish lyrical genre and adapt it to current times.

On this occasion, the staging of one of the most performed zarzuelas will feature a cast of young soloists, including Rocío Pérez's debut at the Jerez coliseum, who will assume the leading role. Above the plot - typical of comedy due to the succession of entanglements and love triangles - the city of Madrid also takes center stage. A poetic, romantic and idealized Madrid from the beginning of the 19th century. This dream capital environment can be seen through the scenery devised by Jesús Ruiz, also the author of the costume design.

Un espectáculo que descanse en la búsqueda del musical español”. Bajo esta premisa creó en 2006 Francisco López, director de escena, su particular visión de la zarzuela “Doña Francisquita”, una producción del coliseo jerezano que ha podido verse, además de en el Teatro Villamarta, en escenarios de Córdoba, Bilbao y Oviedo. Y es que López parte de la necesidad de revitalizar el género lírico español y adaptarlo a los tiempos actuales.

En esta ocasión, la puesta en escena de una de las zarzuelas más representadas contará con un reparto de solistas jóvenes, donde cabe destacar el debut en el coliseo jerezano de Rocío Pérez, que asumirá el rol protagonista. Por encima del argumento -propio de la comedia debido a la sucesión de enredos y triángulos amorosos- también cobra protagonismo la ciudad de Madrid. Un Madrid poético, romántico e idealizado de principios del siglo XIX. Este ambiente de capital soñada se podrá contemplar a través de la escenografía ideada por Jesús Ruiz, autor también del diseño de vestuario.
