Since 2017, he has been the chief conductor and artistic director of the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2012, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of England awarded Shishon the rank of Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his achievements in music, while in 2016 he was elected a member of the Royal Academy of Music in London for his achievements in the profession.
