The opera "Faust" is a fairy tale full of magic and metaphysics for adults, in which the main character's existential dilemma is presented against the backdrop of a story about a wartime society which, despite historical circumstances, still wants to play, love and seeks support and an ethical compass in simple interpretations of folk morality. and religious dogma. Our interpretation of "Faust" is based on the ambition to create a fairy tale and Faustian myth appropriate to our times. We offer you a journey into the world of dystopia, the world of a futuristic fantasy about the society of the future - a fairy-tale convention, but through the bitter social observation it contains, intended for an adult viewer. Based on the observation of the modern world: the war going on beyond our border, climate crises, the ongoing re-militarization of societies and their polarization, we tell a story about a new order, a society of the late 2030s, which, after experiencing land-destroying armed military conflicts, unites in strictly codified, controlled communities and tries to deal with the horror of the surrounding world using available methods. The main character, Faust, is a doctor - pathologist dealing with war victims, for the sake of his work, plunged into great doubt as to the nature of man, the meaning of his own work, overwhelmed by the size of the catastrophe he sees in the world. The experience of a magical transformation and the journey in which he looks for Małgorzata is a kind of Voltairean initiation journey, where the protagonist discovers the truths about the nature of the world during his journey. Małgorzata, on the other hand, the actual heroine of the drama taking place in the opera, is presented by us in the scenery of our garden, which we have made one of the most important symbols of the performance. In Małgorzata's minimalist garden, there is probably the last tree on Earth - an apple tree - a symbol of Satan's temptation, but also of Małgorzata's purity, her naturalness, simplicity and innocence. After she is abandoned by Faust, the bare tree is covered with snow, and in the end…
