Cultural life is reawakening and it has a lot of catching up to do. The traditional charity concert in support of the Foundation State Opera Hanover is especially significant in 2022. The programme is of the accustomed first-rate quality: no other than Luca Salsi , the currently most sought-after Italian baritone, has been invited. Milan’s La Scala chose him no less than three times for its prestigious inauguration, which is broadcast on worldwide television – as Macbeth, Scarpia in Tosca and Gérard in Andrea Chénier . He regularly sings alongside stars like Anna Netrebko or Jonas Kaufmann at the Salzburg Summer or Easter Festival and he is a fixture at opera houses in New York, London, Paris, Munich, Berlin and Verona. In September, the Hanover audience will have an opportunity to enjoy him as a special guest at the gala concert, where he will present a great Verdi-repertoire.
