The open-air staging of Stanisław Moniuszko's opera combined with the "App Flis" and "Zaflis" projects forms part of the Triptych. The script assumes a prologue, which will be an interaction of Moniuszko and the actors with the audience of children, as an introduction to the main part of the performance. The show tells the story of Zosia, the Rafter Frank in love with her and the hairdresser Jakub who came to the village from the capital. The libretto surprisingly intertwines the fate of these three heroes, revealing a family secret at the same time ...
Libretto: Stanisław Bogusławski
A violent summer storm (shown in the overture) has passed and the people gathered on the bank of the Vistula offer a prayer of thanksgiving to the heavens, glad that the dangerous element has not caused any serious damage. Zosia is very worried about the fate of her beloved rafter Frank, who at this time, while sailing with jelly, could be exposed to great danger (dumka "Ah! Maybe you are in this storm"). An old soldier, Szostak, reassures Zosia with good news: Franek is healthy and is all coming back with jelly beans from Sandomierz and will be here soon. But a serious obstacle arises on the path of love of two young people, because it turns out that Antoni promised his daughter's hand to Jakub, a hairdresser from Warsaw. Szostak tries in vain to dissuade Jakub from marrying Zosia - reckless and cheerful, but at the same time quite conceited hairdresser, convinced of his superiority over a simple rafter, he does not think to leave the square (arietta "I am a hairdresser"). Also in vain, Franek, who has just returned, begs the old Antoni with Zosia to change the decision that made them both unhappy. Desperate, he decides to leave the village forever - he declares that he will try to find his missing brother Jakub, who is now the only one left in the world. The intrigued barber begins to ask Frank about family matters, and it turns out that he is the missing brother of the young rafter. Of course, now, happy with such an unexpected discovery, Jakub gladly gives up his rights to Zosia's hand. Together with Zosia, she begs old Antoni to change the decision that made them both unhappy.
