An outstanding Italian virtuoso violinist Giuliano Carmignola is considered to be the emblematic performer of Vivaldi’s music. He’s often referred to as “the prince of baroque violinists”. Born in Treviso, Giuliano Carmignola began his violin studies with his father. His first teacher at the Venice Conservatory was famous Luigi Ferro. Carmignola gained worldwide recognition while playing with “Virtuosi di Roma” and “The Venetian Soloists”, the main Italian orchestras of the time. Giuliano Carmignola collaborated with few famous conductors: Giuseppe Sinopoli, Daniele Gatti, Giovanni Antonini, Ottavio Dantone etc. For many years, he and Claudio Abbado were friends and collaborators. Carmignola enjoys a uniquely diverse career, with repertoire ranging from Vivaldi, Beethoven, and Mendelssohn to Debussy, Stravinsky, and Schnittke. Equally accomplished on modern and Baroque violin, Giuliano Carmignola is highly regarded for his broad repertoire, encompassing Baroque, Romantic, Classical, and 20th-century works. Still, his forte is baroque, while his recordings of Vivaldi concerts are arguably the best in the history of recording. Erato, Divox Antiqua, and Sony would release his albums, and since 2003, Giuliano Carmignola is a Deutsche Grammophon exclusive artist. In recent years, Carmignola is an invited conductor of “Academy of Ancient Music”, Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, paris Chamber Orchestra, and KlangVerwaltung. In Zaryadye Hall, Giuliano Carmignola performs with I Virtuosi Italiani. Founded in 1989, the ensemble has been collaborating with worldwide renowned orchestras and conductors ever since. Virtuosi recorded more than hundred albums, with some of them winning them prestigious prizes such as Choc de la Musique, Five stars – Goldberg prize, Diapason d'or, etc. I Virtuosi Italiani founded music seasons in their native Verona.
