Bitte sehr, wirf mich rein ins Meer, wirf mich rein und lass mich leben, was Du wünscht, will ich Dir geben!“ – Ein sprechender Fisch!? Jacob ist so verdattert, dass er ihn wieder ins Wasser fallen lässt. Dabei hätte der dicke Fang sich gut als Abendessen für ihn und seine armen Eltern gemacht. Aber was hat der Fisch gesagt? Jacob darf sich was wünschen? Da fällt ihm eigentlich gar nicht so recht was ein. Nachts in der dürftigen Behausung frieren ihm die Füße. Am nächsten Morgen ruft er den Fisch und geht mit schicken neuen Schuhen heim. Da drängen ihn die Eltern loszugehen, ein Haus, später ein Schloss und dann das zugehörige Personal vom scheinbar nicht versiegenden Wunschfisch zu besorgen. Die Habgier wächst, die Besitzansprüche werden maßlos. Zu einfach, zu verlockend ist der Erwerb, der keinerlei Anstrengung bedarf. Trotz schlechtem Gefühl im Bauch geht Jacob immer wieder los. Irgendwie lebt es sich so ja auch recht angenehm. Aber der Fisch wird dünner und dünner und das Meer tobt immer stärker …

Mit dem Familien-Musiktheater zum Mitmachen nach dem Märchen „Vom Fischer und seiner Frau“ für eine Mezzosopranistin und einen Schlagzeuger stellt Regisseur Johannes Oertel die Frage nach dem Quell des Glücks zwischen Besitztümern und dem Einklang mit sich selbst.

The fat catch would have made a good supper for him and his poor parents. But what did the fish say? Jacob can make a wish? Actually, he doesn't really think of anything. At night in the poor dwelling, his feet freeze. The next morning he calls the fish and goes home in smart new shoes. Then his parents urge him to go get a house, later a castle and then the associated staff from the seemingly never-ending wish-fish. Greed grows, claims of ownership become excessive. Too easy, too tempting is the acquisition that requires no effort. Despite a bad feeling in his stomach, Jacob keeps going. Somehow life is quite comfortable that way. But the fish is getting thinner and thinner and the sea is raging harder and harder...

With the family music theater to join in based on the fairy tale "About the fisherman and his wife" for a mezzo-soprano and a drummer, director Johannes Oertel poses the question of the source of happiness between possessions and harmony with oneself.
