Experience the opera stars of tomorrow: The Opera Studio of the Bavarian State Opera presents an evening with arias from IDOMENEO by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, THE PERLENFISCHER by Georges Bizet, THE TALES OF HOFFMANN by Jacques Offenbach and LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR by Gaetano Donizetti. The Opera Studio prepares highly talented young artists for an international career in a practical way. After passing the multi-stage selection process, the selected talents support the ensemble of the Bavarian State Opera for a period of one to two years. You will be directly involved in the opera business and take on small to medium-sized roles in the productions. They also receive an accompanying support program, which consists of singing and role studies, acting lessons and selected master classes. The opera studio was founded in its current form in the 2006/07 season and is artistically directed by Tobias Truniger. In addition to twelve singers, there are also two pianists who also go through an application process and are supported as part of the program.
