This people have a tradition: to bring small stones, not flowers, to the graves of the departed. There are many interpretations of the custom. The Leningrad poet Alexander Gorodnitsky once wrote about this: Is it because where the paths of the soul are endless, Flowers fade, but stones are practically eternal? Or is the reason here that people often strive, having removed a stone from the soul, to pass it on to their deceased ancestors?... And they also say that these stones are like an invitation for the spark of the soul of the deceased to descend and be on earth with the living. Every year at the end of January, on the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz in 1945, Holocaust Remembrance Day is celebrated. According to rough estimates, more than a million Jews were tortured and burned in this death camp alone. Now we will not find their graves. Their ashes have been scattered.
January 30, 2024 in the Great Hall of the St. Petersburg Academic Philharmonic named after. D. D. У народа этого есть традиция: на могилы ушедших приносить не цветы, а небольшие камешки. Толкований обычаю много. Об этом когда-то ленинградский поэт Александр Городницкий написал: Потому ли, что там, где дороги души бесконечны, Увядают цветы, а вот камни практически вечны? Или в том здесь причина, что люди стремятся нередко, Снявши камень с души, передать его умершим предкам?... А еще говорят, что камни эти – как приглашение для искры души умершего спуститься и побыть на земле с живыми. Ежегодно в конце января, в годовщину освобождения Освенцима в 1945-м, отмечается День памяти жертв Холокоста. По примерным оценкам только в этом лагере смерти были замучены и сожжены более миллиона евреев. Ныне мы не найдем их могил. Их пепел развеян.
30 января 2024 года в Большом зале Санкт-Петербургской академической филармонии им. Д.Д.Шостаковича в девятый раз пройдет концерт «Желтые Звезды», приуроченный к Международному дню памяти жертв Холокоста. В целом же в истории проекта этот концерт станет уже десятым: в 2018-м году он впервые прошел и в Москве, на сцене театра «Геликон-опера». Очень важно собраться хотя бы раз в год; для того, чтобы каждый мог положить свой маленький камешек к подножию их несуществующих могил.
