With the Bruschino, the Parma Conservatory resumes the tradition of opera productions staged with its young singers and open to the public, after the sad period of the pandemic which severely limited contact with the stage. Taking up the difficult challenge of reconciling safety standards with the needs of live acting and singing, it was decided to stick to the spirit of the farce by proposing the Bruschino as a testing ground for young singers and master collaborators entering the world of 'Opera. Represented in Venice at the San Moisé theater in January 1813, the last of the five farces that Rossini composed for the small private theater of the Giustinian family, Bruschino requires the considerable vocal commitment of voices now on their way to maturity. Its short duration requires high concentration and attention to the smallest details. Even with the limitations of the case, all the young singers' abilities are put to the test: vocal technique, stage presence, acting times, interaction with a conductor and with colleagues. With this Rossini, discovering his irresistible music and his unmistakable verve, all the selected students (singers and maestro collaborators) participated in an intense and rigorous work, guided for the acting and staging by Roberta Faroldi (teacher of Scenic Art and director), and under the musical direction (for the singers and collaborator teachers), of Riccardo Mascia (teacher of score, collaborator teacher who has studied the scores of Gioachino Rossini for a long time under the guidance of Alberto Zedda).
