We follow Jan from his first enthusiasm, through his equally flamboyant and ruthless kingship, to his intimate confession on death row. This timeless story of radicalization comes to life with Bach's impressive, overwhelming and emotional music. Thanks to a compelling staging, an excellent cast and the choir and orchestra of the Netherlands Bach Society, this music can be heard and seen like never before.
