Die Junge Deutsche Philharmonie feiert ihren 50. Geburtstag! 1974 wurde diese Talentschmiede für angehende Orchestermusiker gegründet. Seitdem arbeitet man regelmäßig mit Top-Dirigenten und Spitzensolisten zusammen. Dazu gehört Jonathan Nott, der Erster Gastdirigent und zugleich künstlerischer Berater ist. Mit diesem Mahler-Experten feiert das Orchester sein Jubiläum nun – mit der atemberaubenden 7. Sinfonie.

Trauermarsch-Gedanken und bizarrer Walzerspuk, Jubelfanfaren sowie Herdenglocken und Volksliedhaftes in den zwei »Nachtmusik«-Sätzen – dies sind die markanten Klangvisitenkarten von Gustav Mahlers 7. Sinfonie, die 1908 in Prag uraufgeführt wurde. Und angesichts ihres ganzen, unfassbar farbenreichen Facettenreichtums gilt dieses Opus magnum vielen als Mahlers typischstes Werk.

The Junge Deutsche Philharmonie is celebrating its 50th birthday! This talent factory for aspiring orchestra musicians was founded in 1974. Since then, the orchestra has worked regularly with top conductors and top soloists. This includes Jonathan Nott, who is both principal guest conductor and artistic advisor. The orchestra is now celebrating its anniversary with this Mahler expert - with the breathtaking 7th Symphony.

Funeral march ideas and bizarre waltz spooks, jubilant fanfares as well as herd bells and folk songs in the two "Night Music" movements - these are the distinctive sound calling cards of Gustav Mahler's 7th Symphony, which was premiered in Prague in 1908. And in view of its entire, incredibly colorful wealth of facets, this opus magnum is considered by many to be Mahler's most typical work.
