However, Rossini's fairy tale version largely dispenses with supernatural elements and instead emphasizes the comic aspects of the plot. In the end, the half-orphan Angelina (aka Cinderella) is rewarded for her kindness and purity of heart with the love of Prince Don Ramiro.
