The most famous opera by Adolphe Adam, the author of the ballet "Giselle", "The Postman
from Longjumeau" is now practically not heard in Russia. However, she appeared on the Moscow stage - she was staged at the Bolshoi Theater in 1839, three years after the premiere at the Paris Opéra-Comique.

The whole work is a benefit to Chaplu: he is constantly on stage and participates in almost all numbers, and the D of the second octave in his rondo from the first act is called an exam for the tenor. The main intrigue in the opera is love. At the same time, the story of the postman, who turned out to be a talented singer, has some features of an operatic parody: in The Postman there are musical quotations from G. Rossini's Otello and Comte Ory, and the plot itself revolves around the vocal career of the protagonist Chaplu.

Самая известная опера Адольфа Адана, автора балета «Жизель», «Почтальон
из Лонжюмо» сейчас практически не звучит в России. Однако она появлялась на московской сцене – в Большом театре ее ставили в 1839 году, через три года после премьеры в парижской Опера-Комик.

Всё произведение – бенефис Шаплу: он находится на сцене постоянно и участвует практически во всех номерах, а ре второй октавы в его рондо из первого действия называют экзаменом для тенора. Главная интрига в опере – любовная. В то же время история о почтальоне, который оказался талантливым певцом, обладает некоторыми чертами оперной пародии: в «Почтальоне» встречаются музыкальные цитаты из «Отелло» и «Графа Ори» Дж. Россини, а сам сюжет разворачивается вокруг вокальной карьеры главного героя Шаплу.
