The title was staged for the first time in the history of the Bydgoszcz opera scene. The score points to the hand of a true master; her style is brilliant, she represents the best example of opera buff. The enthusiastic verdict of the Milan audience after the premiere in 1832 was confirmed on other stages: within a dozen or so years this opera conquered the world. Today, "Love drink" is one of the pillars of the "iron repertoire" of the opera. The work bears the stigma of genius: it does not lack purely comic scenes, although they are not only intended to evoke carefree laughter. The composer perfectly understands every situation of the libretto, accurately creating the musical characteristics of the characters. Donizetti gives singers the opportunity to shine with spectacular parts. Each of the characters presents itself in a suggestive and legible way. A bel cant masterpiece created by Gaetan Donizetti, brilliantly directed at Opera Nova by Krzysztof Nazar, Apart from the leading characters, an equally important function in this opera can be played by a choir that is a witness of the stage events. And since the choir at Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz is 60, it must be activated in such a way as to expressly and significantly participate and accompany the adventures of the main characters of the drama. In opera and ballet, not only the technical perfection of the performers is the most important thing, but also how it is "used" by the staging. That is why I try, using the principles of stage art, to say something more about the characters, and not just focus on showing their purely vocal skills. I strive to ensure that each character has its own life, has its own character and authenticates its indispensability on the stage. This is how an imaginary world is created, governed by its own, tailored expression" .
